I’m Ashley Renee’, hair designer and passionista from Houston, Texas. I recently was welcomed on board to Team 300, which is a National Education team for the company I work for, Beauty Brands Inc. I have an extraordinary passion for what I do. I enjoy every aspect of my industry, and aspire to wear every hat possible throughout my journey in it! I went to Cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute of Houston and graduated in 2009, but my passion for hair came long before the decision to go to school for it. I was always the ‘go to girl’ in High School when someone needed their hair cut, or colored, or styled for a special occasion. My very first homecoming my freshman year of high school, I sat in a friends bathroom styling her and 4 other gal’s hair, and hardly had time to do my own! I remember going to that Homecoming dance, and having people ask my friends and I which salon we had gone to for our up do’s… and the ongoing joke for the rest of the night was that we had gone to Salon De Ashley, located in so and so’s bathroom. When I was a kid, all of my barbies had to have different hairstyles. One had to be braided, one had to have a ponytail, etc etc. My passion for this industry is unfathomable. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else, whether it be behind the chair or behind the desk, it HAS to be in this industry. How many people do you know that wake up in the morning, EVERY morning, excited to go to work? With a burning desire to be behind their chair, or desk, or wherever? That enjoy nothing more than having their minds submerged in their work? I do! And I am so fortunate to have found what I LOVE to do at such an early age, because I get to spend the rest of my life enjoying my “job”
It’s not a job to me. It’s a love. I get to go to ‘work’ every day and play for 8+ hours. And then I get to come home to my gorgeous fiance and pup and fall asleep in the arms of the love of my life.
LIFE IS WONDERFUL!
So, since I have such sentiment for what I do, I want to share my passion with everyone out there. Hopefully by reading this blog you will be inspired, you will learn, and you will enjoy what you read as you follow me on my journey, in the day to day life of a hair designer!
